Colour the Clouds

On Wednesday 28th September we got invited to Atherton Library for an interactive session called  ‘Colour the Clouds’ which had been commissioned as part of our Rugby World Cup celebrations.

8 children in total from across school went and took part in an Interactive performance. They all listened intently, joined in with the activities and could answer questions related to the story of Anousha.

‘Anousha has been signed up to play in her local rugby tournament. There is just one problem… she doesn’t know anything about rugby! After her Grandpa’s advice proves less than helpful, she decides to visit her local library to do some research, but there is so much information; it all seems very confusing. Come and help Anousha as she learns how to become brave, strong and confident, ready for her first Rugby League match’.

Willow 2 visit Atherton Library

Willow 2 had great fun visiting Atherton Library. Pupils looked for book’s relating to climates to help with their research for Topic/Science.
They also chose a book that they wanted to share with friends in class for literacy.
Pupils learned about barcodes and how to check a book out and will return the books independently on their next visit.
Our learners have been discussing in class how they cant wait to return!

Oak 2 visit My Life

Some of Oak 2 ventured out to My Life and learnt how to care for different animals. Based in Standish, pupils had the opportunity take part in animal care within the small animal farm, with goats, chickens, pigs, ducks, rabbits and sheep.

Curious Critters Maple 2

On Wednesday the 28th June, Maple 2 had a lovely visit from Meadowbank Primary school and Curious Critters. The children saw lots of different animals (A snake, Skinny Pig, and African Beetle and a lizard). All of the pupils listened to Danny when he was explaining how to treat the animals with care. Everyone enjoyed looking and handling the different critters. Well done Maple 2 for great listening and looking after your new friends from Meadowbank!

As apart of our Well-being Curriculum, school will be hosting reptiles on a regular basis throughout the year similarly to Little Barn Farm.
