During our Food Facts lessons we learn about different food: where it comes from; what it is made from; what it looks like before its cooked; and then children are encouraged to taste food in a taste challenge. We do this to encourage children to try new things and extend the foods they eat.
Last we tasted foods eaten during Divali celebrations. Children tasted Indian rice pudding, sweets, crackers biscuits and snacks. They had a great time, and so did the staff. Almost everyone tried all the foods which was great. The crackers were a big hit in 2G, 2O got tucked into the rice pudding, and 2W tried them all twice as they had a Divali party at the end of the week! An enormous THANKYOU goes to Dhillon’s family for donating all the food, and especially to his mum and grandmas for preparing it for us all.
