Relaxed Reading Library

We are currently in the process of making a relaxed reading library for our pupils to access throughout the day in school.

We were very excited to welcome Maddi, who presently studies Art & Design at Oakfield High School and College. Maddi has designed and painted this entire mural independently as apart of her course. We look forward to sharing more photographs of this fantastic space in use with you in the future.

Afternoon Tea

Church members and Rev Tracy as well as Luisa Preston (Chair of Governors’) and Iwona Goddard (Governor) came to an Afternoon Tea at Rowan Tree on Tuesday 15th February. They enjoyed homemade cake, a performance from Pine 2 as well as joining in with the rest of the school for Music in Mind. They had a brilliant time, and it was lovely to see some familiar faces that used to work at Rowan Tree a long time ago.

Oak 2 become Zen 2

Oak 2 couldn’t wait to try the new Theta drums that we now have in school. The children and Hannah enjoyed a relaxing time in the sensory studio playing some calming music on the drums.
Theta drums have many benefits they are easy to use and enjoy so are inclusive to all, they stimulate the creative brainwaves and aid relaxation.

We felt very zen afterwards.

Fir 2 are Super Communicators

Fir 2 have been working hard to use PECS in all areas of the day. They have been identifying and requesting shapes in the play tray, requesting which PE equipment they want to use and describing what they can see, hear, and feel in our literacy topic. Fir 2 are taking ownership of their PECS books and continue to grow in independence. Doing so many PECS exchanges has helped to develop their communication skills and are all making big strides. Well done Fir 2!
