Wellbeing Committee
We are pleased to introduce the Wellbeing Committee chaired by our Wellbeing and Hospitality Lead Barbara Critchley. The main role of the committee will be to communicate, participate, motivate, and support the wellbeing of both staff and pupils. The committee will look at our present practice and continue to build on it to make Rowan Tree Primary the best place it can be for anyone that visits us.

Pine 2’s Science Experiment
Which Material will Keep Teddy Dry?
This week Pine 2 have been conducting an experiment. This term their learning has been all about materials and their properties. They tested their knowledge by making predictions about which material will keep the teddy dry. Then we tested our predictions by covering the teddy with the material and pouring water over it. Teddy was very wet by the end, but the children learnt a great deal about the properties of different materials.
Great job Pine 2!
Birch 2 Howe Bridge Activity Festival

Elm 1 form friendships at Meadowbank
Pupils from Elm 1 have visiting Meadowbank School now for a few weeks and they are building some beautiful friendships with the learners there. They have been lucky with the weather on these trips and have been able to take advantage of both their indoor and outdoor provision.
Ash 1 Valentines
Ash 1 have been doing lots of lovely learning in relation to our PSHE topic “Looking after me and others”. Pupils have been attempting to distinguish between older and younger people, before suggesting different ways in which we can care for them.
One of the ways we’ve gone about this is by creating a heart filled with lovely messages for members of the local assisted living facility known as Belong Atherton. Residents will be able to pull a heart from the large cut out and find a valentines message behind each.
Top tips for hitting the bricks!
Our school Lego Therapy sessions, aka Brick Club, aim to improve social interaction. They provide pupils with an opportunity to practice and develop a wide range of skills, including communication and language skills, and social and play skills. This term we have particularly focused on turn taking, good listening, and giving and receiving instructions. Pupils have been working hard, having fun and progressing well. Here’s our top tips for a successful Brick Club session!
