‘People who help us’ Poplar 1

Poplar 1 have loved delving into their new PSHE topic of “People Who Help Us.”

To engage the students’ imagination and reinforce their understanding of various skills, a vintage suitcase filled with roleplay clothes was introduced. Each item of clothing represented a different profession, allowing the children to dress up and immerse themselves in different roles with some linking to professions found within school

Elm 1 take a dip!

The pupils in Elm have been going to swimming lessons at our local baths since April. They have been focusing on submerging their faces and more recently, submerging their whole body and swimming through a hoop.

This session also allows the pupils to work on and develop some skills from their Responsive Learning Targets including dressing and undressing with minimal support.
Great job Elm 1!

Sing and Sign Choir performing at ATHOS

We were delighted to be invited to perform alongside other schools within Tyldesley and Atherton at the ATHOS Singing Festival organised by Mrs Tomlinson from St Stephen’s C of E Primary School. Each school chose to perform two songs, we were blown away by the variety of talent on display. Our Sing and Sign Choir elected to perform two choir favourites ‘Sing a Rainbow’ and ‘In my Paintbox’ which they performed beautifully to a whopping crowd of at least five schools. John our Head Boy described the entire event as “Awesome!”.

Choir on this occasion was led by Jaydan and supported by Mark, Gill, Amy, Kathryn and Louise.

Green Thumbed Cedar 2

Cedar 2 have been working hard during their DT/Science lesson. They have been trying to grow their own vegetables and learning how to care for them. They especially enjoy watering them. They are growing, carrots, lettuce, spring onions and other vegetables. We look forward to keeping you updated on their progress.

Poplar 1 Sensory seekers

We had a wonderful time exploring the different textures found within Nature’s Den. We also counted how many plants we could see and looked at the recently planted shrubs which have begun to grow.  We love to be outside there are so many things to learn!

Elm 1 Summer Week 1

This week the pupils in Elm 1 came back refreshed and ready to learn. They were introduced to their new story, The Snail and The Whale and explored it through Messy Play and Colourful Semantics.
As part of our Wellness Curriculum, the pupils accessed Little Barn Farm where they showed kindness and care when handling and feeding the animals.
The pupils also began learning about the seaside, picnics and made some sandwiches.
