Music in Rowan 2

Rowan 2 have been exploring pulse in their music lessons. They have been creating irregular and regular pulses on the drums and wooden percussion.

They listened appropriately to their peers and clapped in recognition of their friend’s composition! Well Done Rowan 2, musicians in the making.

Willow 2’s Enterprise

Some of the children in Willow were discussing how they wanted to open their own café. So what started with some child led learning and discussion we have now built this in to DT.
Willow 2 have been working on preparing for their very own hot dog sale. They have assigned an advertising team, packaging team and cooking team.
Pupils made and tested the product to check it was fit for purpose. They have independently advertised sales, making sure to include all the relevant information.
We are looking forward to meeting our customers and reviewing the success of our enterprise.

Maple and The Anglo Saxons

This half term, Maple 2 are learning about The Anglo Saxons. In Literacy, the pupils have been rehearsing an Anglo Saxon story where they have learnt about how and why they came to England. To check understand of the Topic and how is relates to previously learning, the pupils took part in a ‘true or false’ quiz. The pupils went on to learn about settlements and what the Anglo Saxons looked for when finding a settlement. On 1cm squared paper, some pupils had support to draw the map using given measurements to a scale (1cm – 1m). Other pupils took the opportunity to design shields using an iPad app which included patterns linking to their Art topic. To finish the activity, some pupils baked us all Anglo Saxon Oat Cakes.
