Green Thumbed Cedar 2

Cedar 2 have been working hard during their DT/Science lesson. They have been trying to grow their own vegetables and learning how to care for them. They especially enjoy watering them. They are growing, carrots, lettuce, spring onions and other vegetables. We look forward to keeping you updated on their progress.

Poplar 1 Sensory seekers

We had a wonderful time exploring the different textures found within Nature’s Den. We also counted how many plants we could see and looked at the recently planted shrubs which have begun to grow.  We love to be outside there are so many things to learn!

Elm 1 Summer Week 1

This week the pupils in Elm 1 came back refreshed and ready to learn. They were introduced to their new story, The Snail and The Whale and explored it through Messy Play and Colourful Semantics.
As part of our Wellness Curriculum, the pupils accessed Little Barn Farm where they showed kindness and care when handling and feeding the animals.
The pupils also began learning about the seaside, picnics and made some sandwiches.

Shopping!

Our super shoppers in Oak 2 have been to Asda and bought our ingredients so we can make our biscuits for a special competition on Friday. Well done everyone!

KS1 visit Manchester Airfield

The pupils in KS1 had a wonderful day exploring the planes and play-area at Manchester Airfield to round up our DT topic of Vehicles. We visited the inside of a plane and looked at all the different parts. We watched and waited for planes coming into land and taking off. The pupils really enjoyed it and showed excellent listening skills throughout.

Orienteering

Maple 2 went to Pennington flash to complete an orienteering challenge. We worked as team to find the letters on the map then named the shape that was underneath the letter. Everyone worked well as a team and helped each other find and name the letters. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed a lovely walk in the sunshine and admiring the nature. We had a play on the small park afterwards. Everyone did amazing turn taking and once back on the bus everyone was ready for a well deserved rest!

Visit to Pennington Park

Cedar 2 visited Pennington Park and had a fabulous time. They explored the environment and the equipment and even had time for a little picnic. It was a lovely sunny day and everyone enjoyed playing in the sunshine.
