This half term the Birches have had a dance teacher in to teach them some simple dance moves. Over the weeks, they have shown massive progress and have begun to replicate dance moves and interact with the dance equipment for a short time. They have had a great time with her!
This Monday morning, Ash 1 were super excited to receive a special gift from the Elves and Fairies we have been helping adjacent to our KS1 Outdoor Learning Topic.
The children enjoyed exploring the role play items created from natural objects they themselves collected last term.
This week pupils and staff at Rowan Tree Primary School have enjoyed a range of activities in relation to Mental Health Awareness Week. This years official theme has been ‘Loneliness’ and, across the week, we have been building meaningful connections with our friends and colleagues.
Staff have had opportunities to take part in group walks, exercise classes and gift giving schemes. Pupils have enjoyed an inclusive whole school cinema day, championing Literacy skills by reading to their younger school members, learning outside together and working as a team to spread positivity wherever they can.
Charlie our registered PAT dog came in for his first official session with the children today. All of the children loved spending time with him, he was very calm and loving towards the children. Charlie will be coming in every week to work with Ash 1 and Birch 2. They will enjoy talking to him, petting him, and reading with him.

This term in Physical Education, Willow 2 are having lots of fun learning all about Athletics ‘Going for gold’. This week they have focused on javelin. All the children enjoyed this activity, with George going as far to say “This was my favourite lesson this week!”.
The pupils in Maple are continuing to work hard on their Phonics this week. Each child takes part in 1:1 or small group Phonics sessions throughout the week to ensure the pupils are being challenged to meet their individual targets. Keep up the good work Maple!
This week our learners have loved meeting our new school PAT dog, his name is Charlie! Pets As Therapy (PAT) is a national charity that enhances the health and wellbeing of thousands of people in communities across the UK. Charlie joins our Rowan Tree family and will be in school every week for cuddles, walks and to listen to children read.
