We look forward to sharing some photographs of the exciting things our learners get up to during their stay.

Strictly Come Dancing in Rowan 2

Last term, KS2 enjoyed Physical Education lessons themed around our topic of Strictly! Our learners in Rowan 2 have spent the past five weeks learning about Spanish Flamenco, Scottish Folk Dance, Maypole and Hakka dances! They have immensely enjoyed lots of lovely Sensory Displayed Collections in relation to this.

During Week 1 the children explored a variety of clothing items linked to ballroom dancing, here is a brief video we have created that has featured as apart of our introduction each week.

Pine 2’s Science Experiment: How do plants grow?

Our KS2 topic for Science this term is Growing Plants. In Pine 2 they have been learning that plants need water and sunlight to grow! Individually the children have sequenced the growth cycle of a plant and used this information to pot their very own watercress. We cant wait to watch them grow!

To make it a fair test, their investigation includes watercress growing with and without sunlight – the children have made some pretty good predictions about their experiment!

Elm 1 St. George’s Day

This week Elm 1 have been preparing for our St. George’s day party. They listened to a story and dressed up as St George! The children had lots of fun drawing a dragon using chalk outside and wrote the word dragon with help from their teachers. They worked together to collage a sword and shield.

Elm 1 especially enjoyed our whole school St George’s Day party.

Regional Boccia Finals

Six pupils from Rowan Tree represented Greater Manchester in the regional Boccia finals. Their skills as well as their confidence improved throughout the competition! We didn’t win it this time but all pupils revived a certificate and medal for taking part! Well done!
