Elm 1 Diwali

Elm 1 have enjoyed listening to lots of stories about Diwali. The children decorated the classroom with Diwali lights and made Rangoli patterns using rice, sand and sequins as well as a Diwali candle. The class particularly enjoyed watching fireworks in the immersive learning room and played instruments to imitate the fireworks as they enjoyed this festival of light.

The children also enjoyed sampling some Papdi Gathiya a tea time evening snack prepared from chickpea flour, and some Chakri a savoury snack.

Healthy Ash 1

This week in Science Ash 1 have been learning about health and eating. They explored healthy and unhealthy foods, sorting them into categories. The children also looking at how we can look after our teeth and practised brushing their toys teeth.

Early Years Sparkle

This week Early Years pupils have enjoyed lots of Bonfire Night themed learning. They have done some great firework mark making activities using chalk, paint and on the interactive whiteboard, lots of sensory activities, been to Natures Den and waved their ribbons like sparklers, pretended to roast marshmallows on the fire and used bread sticks to make sparklers!
