Birch 1  have had another fantastic week, they have been playing the guitar in Music, looking for flowers in science, playing phonics games in IT and parachute games in PSHE.

The children are having lots of fun learning about capacity in Rowan 1. They enjoyed filling and emptying containers independently.

They filled a measuring cup and emptied it and counted at how many bricks were needed to fill the container.

Rowan 2 really enjoyed their wellbeing day. They enjoyed lots of exercise orientated activities. They then made a healthy fruit salad and explored all the ingredients using their senses. With support pupils cut the fruit and used their gross motor skills. They finished their day in the hall and loved the sensory parachute.

This week Fir 2 have been looking at the story ‘Room on the broom’, they’ve enjoyed dressing up as witches, flying through the sky on broomsticks (the swing) and even making sentences to describe the different characters.

This week in PE Maple 2 were observing their heart rate before and after exercise.

They used the Trim Trail to practice their balance and co-ordination.

This week Oak 2 have been looking at healthy eating and exercise. We have tried some new fruits and snacks and completed some activities in the hall to see how it changed our heart rate.

During PE Pine 2 worked on their ball skills in partners. They had to go to different stations to practice different skills. They enjoyed practicing bouncing a big or small ball to a friend, throwing and catching, dribbling a ball through cones, throwing a bean bag over and under arm into a target, and throwing and catching a bean bag in the air.
